Astro Panda Marketing was founded by Paul Ferrie who spent years watching small businesses get underserved, overcharged, and left behind digitally. He decided to do something about it.

Our story

How Astro Panda came to be.

Paul Ferrie spent several years delivering SEO and social media marketing for large businesses — including Hurricane Fenders and Plastic Mouldings, one of the UK's largest marine and industrial product suppliers — before moving into freelance work. That experience gave Paul a clear picture of what enterprise-level digital marketing actually looks like, and the conviction that small businesses deserve access to the same quality of thinking. He founded Astro Panda Marketing on that conviction.

James Glen had been running Design Fife for years — delivering web design and graphic design projects for businesses across Fife and Scotland, winning industry recognition along the way, and developing a deep understanding of what small businesses actually need from their digital presence. James joined the agency, bringing design, development, and client-side experience that gave Astro Panda the full range of skills needed to deliver on its promise.

Since then, we have brought in copywriters, photographers, video editors, SEO specialists, and web developers as freelance collaborators — building a team around the specific needs of each client rather than carrying overhead that gets passed on in fees. The result is an agency that punches well above its weight and stays lean enough to work with businesses at every budget level.

The mission is straightforward: help small businesses compete with their larger counterparts by making performance-led digital work financially viable for them.

Founder — SEO & Digital Marketing

Paul founded Astro Panda Marketing after spending several years delivering SEO and social media marketing for large businesses — including Hurricane Fenders and Plastic Mouldings, one of the UK's largest marine and industrial product suppliers — before moving into freelance work. That background in large-scale digital marketing, combined with the conviction that small businesses deserve access to the same quality of thinking, is what drove him to build Astro Panda from the ground up. Paul leads on SEO strategy, digital marketing, and client growth.

James Glen

Partner — Web Design & Development

James joined Astro Panda bringing years of web design and graphic design experience through Design Fife — winning two Acquisition International Business Excellence Awards in 2019 for his work supporting businesses across the region. James handles web design, custom PHP development, and technical architecture — and built the Fife Taxi App fleet management platform from scratch.

A lean agency with a wide reach.

Rather than carrying permanent overhead that gets baked into every invoice, we work with a trusted network of specialist freelancers — brought in on a project basis when the work calls for it. This keeps our costs down and means clients only pay for the expertise they actually need.
